In an email from monash this week regarding the new vaccination for the swine flu. The message talks about "priority groups" being able to arrange appointments with the university health service. Here is the list:
Just one question: what sort of person would admit they are severely obese? Can just imagine them running into the clinic shouting, "I'm obese! Give me my vaccine!!!"
1) Pregnant women or those planning pregnancy
2) Parents and guardians of infants up to six months old
3) People who are severely obese
4) Indigenous Australians
5) Frontline health workers
6) Community care workers
7) People with underlying chronic conditions, including:
a) Heart disease
b) Asthma and other lung diseases
c) Cancer
d) Diabetes
e) Kidney disease
f) Neurological disease
g) Other chronic conditions (talk to your GP)
