Surgical Disaster Number 2

We should change our team name from "General Medicine" to "Surgical Dumping Ground". Because that's what we do!

Orthopaedic patients come in for hip replacements, develop acute renal failure and pneumonia because they can't be bothered looking after their patients. And then they say "no acute surgical issues, await rehab. Medical referral for acute renal failure". And then what? Take of care by medical team. Patient continues to deteriorate, goes into septic shock and dies a few days later. And you know what's the kicker? Because they've recently had an operation, they become a reportable death and the medical intern (i.e. me) ends up having to call the coroner's court and do all the fucking paperwork!

GARRRRR!!! X_X
